Uncertainty Analysis for a Jet Flap Airfoil

An analysis of variance (ANOVA) study was performed to quantify the potential uncertainties of lift and pitching moment coefficient calculations from a computational fluid dynamics code, relative to an experiment, for a jet flap airfoil configuration. Uncertainties due to a number of factors including grid density, angle of attack and jet flap blowing coefficient were examined. The ANOVA software produced a numerical model of the input coefficient data, as functions of the selected factors, to a user-specified order (linear, 2-factor interference, quadratic, or cubic). Residuals between the model and actual data were also produced at each of the input conditions, and uncertainty confidence intervals (in the form of Least Significant Differences or LSD) for experimental, computational, and combined experimental / computational data sets were computed. The LSD bars indicate the smallest resolvable differences in the functional values (lift or pitching moment coefficient) attributable solely to changes in independent variable, given just the input data points from selected data sets. The software also provided a collection of diagnostics which evaluate the suitability of the input data set for use within the ANOVA process, and which examine the behavior of the resultant data, possibly suggesting transformations which should be applied to the data to reduce the LSD. The results illustrate some of the key features of, and results from, the uncertainty analysis studies, including the use of both numerical (continuous) and categorical (discrete) factors, the effects of the number and range of the input data points, and the effects of the number of factors considered simultaneously

Evaluation of Load Analysis Methods for NASAs GIII Adaptive Compliant Trailing Edge Project

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC), and FlexSys Inc. (Ann Arbor, Michigan) have collaborated to flight test the Adaptive Compliant Trailing Edge (ACTE) flaps. These flaps were installed on a Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation (GAC) GIII aircraft and tested at AFRC at various deflection angles over a range of flight conditions. External aerodynamic and inertial load analyses were conducted with the intention to ensure that the change in wing loads due to the deployed ACTE flap did not overload the existing baseline GIII wing box structure. The objective of this paper was to substantiate the analysis tools used for predicting wing loads at AFRC. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models and distributed mass inertial models were developed for predicting the loads on the wing. The analysis tools included TRANAIR (full potential) and CMARC (panel) models. Aerodynamic pressure data from the analysis codes were validated against static pressure port data collected in-flight. Combined results from the CFD predictions and the inertial load analysis were used to predict the normal force, bending moment, and torque loads on the wing. Wing loads obtained from calibrated strain gages installed on the wing were used for substantiation of the load prediction tools. The load predictions exhibited good agreement compared to the flight load results obtained from calibrated strain gage measurements

El Banco de Crédito BCP, es el banco líder en el Perú; sus más de 120 años de participación en el Mercado financiero afirman su liderazgo, y es en este ámbito, de mantener aun el liderazgo, que desea participar en la mayoría de mercados, y esta vez lo hace a través de los créditos otorgados a las Mypes del sector de confecciones de camisas de Gamarra, pues las Mypes han cobrado mucha importancia como uno de los principales entes económicos a nivel nacional, y es importante el desarrollo de las mismas a través del financiamiento que muchas veces les hace falta para seguir creciendo. Las Microempresas aparecieron como un fenómeno socioeconómico que buscaba responder a varias de las necesidades insatisfechas de los sectores más pobres de la población. Su participación hoy en día es de vital importancia en el desarrollo del país, ya que las Mypes son el 98.69 por ciento del total de empresas y las principales generadoras de empleo, sin embargo, una característica particular es su alto nivel de informalidad que llega a 72.62 por ciento, lo que les impide gozar de beneficios como el acceso a los créditos por parte de las entidades financieras, y a la vez podemos observar la misma situación en las ya formales, pues presentan un grado alto de incredibilidad ante lo beneficioso que puede resultar dicha forma de financiamiento. El presente trabajo de investigación desea dar a conocer de que manera influyen los préstamos otorgados por parte del Banco de Crédito BCP en el incremento de las utilidades de las Mypes, de esta forma determinaremos hasta que punto es beneficioso para las Mypes el endeudamiento, y así aprovechar al máximo el efecto del escudo fiscal que produce contar con deudas como parte de la estructura del capital

Departamento Académico de HorticulturaEl presente trabajo de suficiencia profesional tiene como objetivo mostrar cómo se implementó un plan de mejora en la gestión del mantenimiento de áreas verdes en el distrito de San Isidro-Lima, a través de la aplicación de prácticas agronómicas adecuadas y la optimización del personal. El plan de manejo de áreas verdes incorpora como eje principal los principios de eficiencia en la gestión del personal y las actividades propias del mantenimiento de áreas verdes. El trabajo tiene la perspectiva de las funciones de supervisor residente de campo y asistente de proyecto en el manejo de las áreas verdes urbanas del distrito como empleado y parte del equipo de la empresa que presta servicios al municipio. El trabajo describe como se realizaron las principales actividades agronómicas como el riego, la propagación de plantas, el reemplazo de flores perennes y de estación, el control fitosanitario, el corte y mantenimiento del césped, la limpieza y disposición final de residuos y finalmente, el manejo de personal. Problems Related to Participants\u27 Roles and Programmatic Goals in Student Teaching Supervision

Current practices regarding the roles of cooperating teachers and university supervisors and the goals of student teaching were examined through an analysis of student teaching handbooks from midwest teacher education programs. Handbooks, representing 61 of the 340 teacher education programs in 13 midwest states, were analyzed to determine the roles assigned to cooperating teachers and university supervisors and to compare the goals of these programs to the outcomes measured in their evaluation instruments. The study found that student teaching materials lacked clear statements of program goals and objectives and lacked clear definitions of the roles of cooperating teachers and university supervisors. Correlation analysis indicated a lack of congruence between the stated program goals and the outcomes assessed in evaluative criteria. Recommendations relate to the clarity in defining roles and tasks and consistency between goals and outcomes

Uso del Software Packet Tracer en el aprendizaje de la red de datos en los estudiantes del Instituto Superior SISE - 2021

El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación de corte tecnológico, que relaciona el uso de un software de virtualización y el aprendizaje de redes, tuvo como objetivo determinar en qué medida el uso del software Cisco Packet Tracer mejora el aprendizaje de la red de datos en los estudiantes de la Escuela de Tecnología de la Información (ETI) del Instituto Superior Tecnológico SISE. Para lo cual, la metodología se basó en una investigación de tipo aplicada, de un nivel descriptivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental, contando con una población conformada por 420 estudiantes y una muestra de 60 estudiantes pertenecientes al quinto ciclo, a quienes se les aplicó una prueba para medir el conocimiento del Packet Tracer y un cuestionario como instrumento para medir el aprendizaje sobre red de datos. Información que fue procesada y analizada a través de la estadística descriptiva; y, como resultado, se encontró que un 85% de los estudiantes alcanzaron una calificación de aprobatorio, de los cuales en su mayor parte tienen de regular a buen conocimiento del software. Asimismo, en cuanto al aprendizaje de redes, se encontró que el 82% de los estudiantes saben configurar diversos dispositivos a través de varios enlaces; también se encontró que el 77% de los estudiantes conocen que los servidores Cisco Meraki sirven para configurar y simular redes en la nube. Entonces, en su mayor parte, demostraron saber cómo hacer una implementación lógica y física de la red de datos, así como también, administrarla. Se concluyó que el uso del software Packet Tracer contribuye a la mejora del aprendizaje de la red de datos.The objective of this technological research work, which relates the use of virtualization software and network learning, was to determine to what extent the use of Cisco Packet Tracer software improves data network learning in students from the School of Information Technology (ETI) of the SISE Higher Technological Institute. For which, the methodology was based on an applied type of research, at a descriptive level, with a quantitative approach and non-experimental design, with a population made up of 420 students and a sample of 60 students belonging to the fifth cycle, whom A test was applied to measure knowledge of Packet Tracer and a questionnaire as an instrument to measure learning about the data network. Information that was processed and analyzed through descriptive statistics; and, as a result, it was found that 85% of the students reached a passing grade, most of which have a fair to good knowledge of the software. Likewise, regarding the learning of networks, it was found that 82% of the students know how to configure various devices through various links; It was also found that 77% of the students know that Cisco Meraki servers are used to configure and simulate networks in the cloud. So, for the most part, they demonstrated knowing how to logically and physically implement the data network, as well as manage it. Electrocoagulation-Adsorption to remove anionic and cationic dyes from aqueous solution by PV-Energy

The cationic dye malachite green (MG) and the anionic dye Remazol yellow (RY) were removed from aqueous solutions using electrocoagulation-adsorption processes. Batch and continuous electrocoagulation procedures were performed and compared. Carbonaceous materials obtained from industrial sewage sludge and commercial activated carbons were used to adsorb dyes from aqueous solutions in column systems with a 96–98% removal efficiency. The continuous electrocoagulation-adsorption system was more efficient for removing dyes than electrocoagulation alone. The thermodynamic parameters suggested the feasibility of the process and indicated that the adsorption was spontaneous and endothermic (Δ = 0.037 and −0.009 for MG and RY, resp.). The Δ value further indicated that the adsorption process was spontaneous (−6.31 and −10.48; = 303 K). The kinetic electrocoagulation results and fixed-bed adsorption results were adequately described using a first-order model and a Bohart-Adams model, respectively. The adsorption capacities of the batch and column studies differed for each dye, and both adsorbent materials showed a high affinity for the cationic dye.Thus, the results presented in this work indicate that a continuous electrocoagulation-adsorption system can effectively remove this type of pollutant from water.
